Metro East Inferno Female Hockey Association

RECreational vs. REPresentative Hockey Information

RECreational and REPresentative hockey are ever-evolving in female hockey as the female game grows but we anticipate each season will be similar to previous hockey seasons.

All Metro East Inferno Coaches will be properly qualified and on-boarded in order to ensure that we as an association adhere to the standards & principles set by Hockey Nova Scotia & Hockey Canada.

Comparing

Recreational (REC) 'C' Category Female Hockey and Representative (REP) 'AAA'/'AA'/'A' Category Female Hockey (U11 -  U18):

  Recreational (REC) Representative (REP)
The Basics
  • REC hockey is for those new or fairly new to hockey and/or those interested in playing hockey ~ 2 to 3 times a week, in a more relaxed, less competitive environment. REC hockey is about developing, learning the game and having fun!
  • REP hockey is for more experienced and skilled hockey players interested in playing ~ 3 to 5 times a week, who enjoy a more intense, competitive environment. REP hockey is about developing, learning and having fun!
