2021 - 08 - 13

Good afternoon everyone,

We hope you are doing well.

As we all continue to prepare for the upcoming hockey season, there are a few reminders that we wanted to pass along to you.

First off, it is important to remember that we remain in Phase 4 of the province’s reopening plan, Nova Scotia is still under a state of emergency, and we all must continue to follow the Rebound Plan. This means that:

  • Teams are still required to have a Team Safety Rep.
  • Leagues and associations are still required to have a League/Association Safety Rep.
  • On the ice, masks are not required. Off the ice, masks are required. Coaches and instructors who work with more than one group must wear a mask at all times while inside the facility (including on the ice).
  • Players, coaches, and officials can practice, train, and compete with up to 59 people in the field of play without social distancing.

More Information: 2021 HNS - NS Reopening Plan - Phase 4

The last year and a half has been extremely challenging but we are hopeful that the next hockey season will be a little smoother for everyone. This said, we all need to do our part to get to Phase 5. As part of this effort, we encourage everyone who is eligible to be vaccinated to do so. Let’s continue to work together to end the pandemic.

When we know more about when the province intends to move to Phase 5 and what that will mean for hockey, we will pass that information along to you.

Yours in Hockey,

Arnie Farrell
